Grouper's Dragging a Dead Dear Up a Hill is one of my jams of the moment. The album is haunting and hazy, emotional and evocative. The aural lushness of this album makes it ideal for morningtime listening, when you're not quite fully conscious yet. The album is full and rich, and Liz Harris's echoy, melancholic voice seems to swaddle you. It's both comforting and mysterious. Suggested track: "Heavy Water/I'd Rather Be Sleeping." Take a listen here. Or buy the record here.
